P.R.I.D.E.® (Promoting Responsibility Independence Decision-making Employability) is the newest program in ECLC's network of services. The program, located in Chatham, launched in September 2008 after ECLC evaluated the status of its graduates and discovered a group of clients whom could benefit from a day activity program. Over the years, the severity of the disabilities of our students has increased, making full-time employment more difficult to attain for some of our alumni.
In this self-directed program, every day is different. Clients explore cultural and recreational interests and improve their vocational, social and independent living skills. Activities target four key areas for their habilitation: social skills, independent living, vocational training and community participation. From cooking to computers to music appreciation and money skills, days at the center are dynamic, full and engaging. Clients also travel into the community on a regular basis for volunteering opportunities, book clubs, yoga classes, fitness and more.
The P.R.I.D.E. Evening Program (P.E.P.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., is a full-service program with the same focus areas. In the fall of 2010, P.R.I.D.E. expanded to accommodate more clients with the addition of a second center located in Chatham, adjacent to the original site.

Lunch allows time for informal socializing.
Art and other engaging activities help clients develop their vocational, social and independent living skills
